Boston bubble-grunge band Sophie’s Body plays Atlanta on Sunday, October 18 at Smith’s Olde Bar (Atlanta Room), performing songs from their debut album, Zero, out independently October 30. The show follows their Shaky Knees appearance on September 19, one of their largest crowds yet, alongside acts like Sir Chloe, Geordie Greep, and Twenty One Pilots.
Led by classically trained vocalist and violinist Sophie McMinn, with drummer Dylan Hughes, bassist Harry Van Der Meer, and guitarist Adam Hurt, the band got its name when Sophie promised her “body” on a show flyer. They released the EP Mandatory Girl in 2025, featuring “LASH” and “Baby Don’t You (Baby),” and head to New York’s New Colossus festival in 2027. “People are smart,” McMinn says of her songs. “They deserve space to think for themselves.”
