Karina Rykman has released her new single, “Shoegaze Summer,” alongside an official music video, taken from her sophomore album, Late Checkout, arriving September 25 via Karina Rykman/High Rotation Records. Rykman kicks off her US tour with a hometown record release show at New York City’s Webster Hall on September 25, bringing the run to Atlanta on October 21 at Aisle 5. Rykman describes the dreamy, reverb-drenched track as “catchy and heavy… ethereal drift one minute, and pure adrenaline the next.”

Recorded with longtime collaborator Gabe Monro at Trey Anastasio’s The Barn and LCD Soundsystem’s DFA Studios, Late Checkout follows Rykman’s 2023 debut, Joyride, and expands her psychedelic indie rock sound with a new focus on lyrical storytelling. Backed by bandmates Adam November and Chris Corsico plus a newly expanded lineup, Rykman’s tour continues through December, with highlights including a two-night stand at Chicago’s Garcia’s Chicago and a debut headline performance at West Hollywood’s Troubadour.
