The indie rock band’s first album in six years, out January 29, arrives with the lead single “Fever of the Mind” ahead of an April headline run.
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah have announced their seventh studio album, Burned, out January 29, 2027 via the CYHSY label and Secretly Distribution, and released the lead single, “Fever of the Mind.” The band’s North American headline tour begins April 5 in Washington, DC, and stops in Atlanta on April 7 at Terminal West. Tickets go on sale Friday, October 23, and pre-orders and pre-saves are available now.
Burned is the band’s first full-length since 2021’s New Fragility. Founder Alec Ounsworth wrote it after a stretch of loss, including the end of a relationship and the deaths of his mother, his uncle, and a close friend. The ten songs trace a path from grief to renewed hope. Ounsworth says “Fever of the Mind,” built on layers of synth riffs, “was the song that sort of thematically and sonically guided the rest of the album.” Produced by Ounsworth with Nick Krill and mixed by Dave and Mike Fridmann, the album was written with the stage in mind, after the band’s 2025 tour for the 20th anniversary of their debut.
