Nashville punk trio Winona Fighter have announced their sophomore album, Brutal & Extremely Underrated, out January 22, 2027 via Rise Records, alongside the new single “Leech” and a music video directed by Hannah Hall. Their North American headline tour kicks off January 21 and stops in Atlanta on March 20 at The Loft at Center Stage. The band describes the album, the follow-up to 2025’s My Apologies to The Chef, as a record where “we as a band gelled more than we ever have.”
Self-produced by bassist Austin Luther at his home studio and mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Greg Collins, the album looks outward more than its predecessor, with songs like “BOMBS AWAY” addressing immigration raids, and “Lily Cut Her Hair,” co-written with PUP’s Stefan Babcock. Winona Fighter spent the summer on the idobi Radio Summer School Tour, played Vans Warped Tour in Long Beach and Mexico City, and close out 2026 at Vans Warped Tour in Orlando and opening for Taking Back Sunday in December.
