BALTHVS have shared their boundary-expanding new single, “Pale Blue Dot,” ahead of their sixth studio album, Manifest, out October 7 via Mixto Records. The band’s US tour begins October 8 at Kentucky’s Moonshiner’s Ball and stops in Atlanta on October 9 at Aisle 5. The band describes the new single as “a call to awareness of our precarious position in the universe,” inspired by Carl Sagan’s cosmic message.
Recorded over two years between international tours, Manifest fuses drum ‘n’ bass, vaporwave, Ethiopian music, indie rock, and jazz, tracked with the same live analog rigs the band uses on stage to preserve their improvisational energy. With more than 120 million streams and performances across 94 cities and 26 countries, BALTHVS has built its sound around psychedelia, funk, surf, disco, cumbia, and spiritual jazz, and continues that journey with Manifest’s genre-fluid new chapter.
